My Story
My name is Philip Smith, and I am a Certified Orthotist and Prosthetist, licensed in the state of Florida. I began my journey with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences from the University of South Florida, followed by a Master’s degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics from the University of Pittsburgh.
I completed a two-year residency program while living in Tampa, Florida. During this time I discovered a true passion for working with the pediatric population, especially helping guide parents through what can be a stressful and emotional time during their baby’s first year of life. Supporting families through this process and seeing the positive outcomes for their children is what continues to drive me every day.
Why Self Pay?
While working in traditional, insurance-based care models, I saw firsthand the challenges families face. Insurance limitations often dictated care timelines, causing unnecessary delays and added stress. Many parents found themselves navigating complex requirements, only to ultimately pay out-of-pocket after losing valuable time during a critical window for treatment.
I founded this practice to create a better, more patient-centered approach, one that removes barriers to care and prioritizes timely treatment. My goal is to provide families with direct access to the services they need, without the frustration and delays often associated with insurance-driven systems.

As a fully mobile service, care is designed to fit seamlessly into your family’s routine. By bringing evaluations, scans, and follow-ups directly to your home or pediatrician’s office, I aim to reduce stress for both parents and babies. This not only makes the process more convenient, but also helps improve helmet wear compliance, leading to better outcomes and more effective correction.
